Ever wondered about those tiny Bees humming around the flowering trees in your garden, collecting the ethereally delicious honey, whose very aroma makes your stomach rumble with excitement?

Ever mused about their importance in maintaining the balance and majesty of our ecosystem?

Did you know that these bees are responsible for 90 per cent of the world’s nutrition and also for the sustenance of the apple trees, orchards, almonds and other varieties of fruits that we munch on?

In fact, they are responsible for every plant delicacy that requires pollination for its sustenance!

But alas! What alarms us today is the rapid decrease in the bee population worldwide, the aftermath of habitat loss and excessive pesticide use, which indirectly have dug a grave for our otherwise lively ecosystem! This puts us before the million-dollar question

Is a revival possible?

We at BeeHappy ventures would optimistically say yes to this seemingly pessimistic question with our smart technologies arrayed under the aegis of sustainable development.

What’s in our food

Studies unanimously point out the fact that 82 per cent of children suffering from starvation live in countries where a chunk of food is given for the growth of animals and in turn, these animals are later on consumed by people in the western countries.

The water we drink

The UN reports suggest that more people die from the bereftness of clean drinking water than all forms of violence combined, including war and natural disasters!

The Plastic Problem

Approximately 640,000 tonnes of fishing gear is abandoned in the oceans making it responsible for 10 percent of plastics waste that ends up in our oceans.

What’s in our food

We were struck with a simple question,

How can we ensure food independence?

On pondering the essence of this seemingly simple question we discovered the fact that the solution begins from your plate! Though it may sound absurd, adjusting your daily diet to plant-based meals can help save up to 1,100 gallons of water, 30 sq ft of forested land, 20 lbs CO2 equivalent per meal, and an incentive to grow food for all!

THE WATER WE DRINK

Ever wondered what water means to us?

Water is not a mere commodity rather it is essential for the well being of all communities at large. Unsafe water is often the pivotal reason behind various diseases knocking at our doors. Contaminated water is the pure source of transmission of communicable diseases such as cholera and diarrhoea among vulnerable communities. Contaminated drinking water is estimated to cause 485,000 diarrhoeal deaths each year. The WHO has stated that by the year 2025 more than half of the world population will be living in water-stressed areas!

The detrimental urbanisation

The urbanisation of land and the subsequent influx of the industries that brought in Jobs and an unexpected economic galore has taken a detrimental toll on the green cover resulting in accelerated global warming and degradation of land – paving the way to the abrupt change in climatic pattern across the globe.

THE PLASTIC PROBLEM

A culture of insolence

Our generation has been a standstill witness to the growth of what could be called the draconian plastic culture which has deprived millions of marine creatures of their basic right to life. The murder of thousands of sea turtles and sea birds make them the martyrs of this draconian culture. Fishing Nets, made up of plastics, mostly broken down into tiny particles, floats in huge blobs amid ocean current patterns that together cover as much as 46 per cent of what is called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
